Function :The subscriber box is used to connect a subscriber either inside (BEPI) or outside (BEPE) the building. It provides for the protection of the subscriber's line against the voltage spikes and current surges. Connection of the cables is achieved by screws. An earth connection is imperative. Removing the surge arrester causes line breaking. Description :The subscriber box is composed of : - A board equipped with all accessories of connection which allows protection by three-pole air gap (not supplied with the box) and fuses (not supplied with the box),
- A click-on cover for the BEPI internal version,
- A sliding cover and waterproofing for the BEPE external version.
It is secured to wall or pole by 4 mm screws or metal collars (not supplied). Features :Characteristics | Value | | Insulation resistance at 100 V (with continuity rods in place of the fuses) | > 104 M. | | Dielectric strength (with continuity rod) | 1000 V rms / 50 Hz/ 1 min | | Contact resistance | With fuses < 75 m. With rods < 50 m. | | Flash-over voltage of the air gap | < 10 kV | | Continuous strike voltage | Between 220 V and 280 V | | Fuse | 20 A | | Blow time (I = 25 A rms ) | < 25 s |
