为了响应通信和列车控制的要求为了解决列车控制复杂的信号和通信问题，耐克森研发了长距离干线光线解决方案，以及用GAM-S技术的独立联网无线电光纤。为了满足隧道和有轨电车的安全性，耐克森提供金属和全绝缘材料的两种光纤以满足抗电磁干扰的需要。
里斯本的Gare do Oriente采用耐克森的局域网管理8路铁路线路以及地铁和路面轨道交通。一种包含216根光纤的全绝缘电缆正用于伦敦的地下交通中。而在高密度的地铁网咯中，运用耐克森的低成本压缩微型光纤也越来越普遍。
